Julie Ziegler is a ceramic artist based on Vashon Island who enjoys creating simple, elegant stoneware forms and bathing them in vibrant colors. Working in porcelain and stoneware, she builds forms by hand, wheelthrowing and a blend of the two to create elegant forms and one-of a kind pieces. Much of her work combines glazes, oxides, fluxes, and metallic washes to create flowing colors punctuated with pattern and texture. When she is not working in her studio, she finds inspiration in the forest adjacent to her home and her beloved flower garden.
